Elizabeth "Omie" Henson, age 85, of Lockards Creek, departed this life on Saturday, November 27th, 2021. Omie was born Monday, March 02, 1936, to the union of the late Liege and Axie Gibson. She was a member of the Lockards Creek Holiness Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing the following children: Wilma Henson, Elmer Gibson, Vada Wagers (Lonnie), Sharon Smith, Larry Henson, Don Henson (Robbie), Selena Shepherd (Roger), Jerry Henson (Michelle), Melinda Mills (Frank), Amber Murphy, all of Manchester, and Joseph Henson of North Carolina. Twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Denver "Joe" Henson, her parents, Liege and Axie Gibson. The following brothers and sisters: Delbert Gibson, George Gibson, Hiram Gibson, James C. Gibson, Lane Gibson, and Nicie Wagers. One grandchild, one great-grandchild, and two sons-in-law, Herman Henson and Darrell C. Smith.
Funeral Services for Omie will be held Wednesday, December 01, 2021, at 12:00 PM at Britton Funeral Home, with Andrew Fultz, Rick Holt, and Dudley Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in the Henson Cemetery on Lockards Creek. Visitation will be after 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
