Cecil Smith was born on April 28, 1943 in Clay County, Kentucky, the son of the late Harvey Smith and Stacy Smith. He was united in marriage 56 years to Mary Sue Lewis Smith. Cecil was a veteran of the United States Army and retired after many years of working for the Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals where he was a mine inspector.
He is also survived by four children, Doyle Glenn Smith and wife Jennifer, Brenda Royster and husband Al, Cecile Wayne Smith and wife Nina and Sally Diehl and husband Jerry; five siblings, Ray Smith and wife Brenda, Homer Smith, Annie Smith, Myrtle Smith and Paralee Gray; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Earl, Jesse, Coy, Frank, Robert and Manuel.
Cecil Smith departed this life surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 6, 2020 being 77 years, 6 months and 9 days of age.
