ANNVILLE, KY MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY TAKING A CHILD FROM PULASKI CO. TO WEST VIRGINIA

SOMERSET, KY - Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of a Jackson County man following a complaint that he transported a child from Pulaski County to West Virginia.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 11, 2025 Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputy Logan Crabtree responded to a residence on East Brown Ridge Road in the Nancy area of Pulaski County after they received a call that a child was missing from that residence.

Upon Deputy Crabtree’s arrival, he conducted an initial investigation, which revealed that the child had possibly been picked up by an adult male. The male was subsequently identified as Michael Anthony Moon, 47, of Annville, KY.

Deputy Crabtree entered the child as missing and completed his initial investigation. The investigation was then continued by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.

Later in the morning of Tuesday, March 11, Detective Branson Patterson continued the investigation.

During the afternoon of March 11, this child was found safe in West Virginia.

As a result of evidence collected during Detective Patterson’s investigation, Michael Moon was arrested and charged with:

  • CUSTODIAL INTERFERENCE
  • POSSESS MATTER SEX PERFORMANCE BY MINOR O/12 < 18 - 1ST OFF

Moon was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.

After being located safe in West Virginia the child has been returned to family.

Detective. Patterson is continuing the investigation. Detective Patterson was assisted in the investigation by Sgt. Ronnie Hellard, Deputies Logan Crabtree, Marcus Harrison, Jared Pierce, and James Pitman, as well as other Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division and Narcotics Division, the United States Marshals Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Deputies responding to the scene were also assisted by the Pulaski County Special Response Team.

Additional charges against Moon may be filed in this investigation.
