Mrs. Christine Adams, age 81, of Barbourville departed this life on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at her home. She was the widow of John Adams, Jr. and the daughter of Charlie and Cleadie (Cole) Mills. She was born on October 29, 1938 in Knox County. She united in marriage with John Adams, Jr. and to this union one daughter was born.
She had a career in banking at Union National Bank for fifty-three years. She was a charter and faithful member of East Barbourville Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and serving others.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Adams, Jr., her parents, Charlie and Cleadie Mills, her mother and father-in-law, Will and Ethel Adams, four brothers, Orlan Mills, Nevel Mills, Rondal Mills and Glennis Mills, a nephew, Troy Douglas Hampton and a niece Jenna Camille Davis. and brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Troy Hampton, Nadine and Lefel Partin and Ruby and Glen Sears.
Survivors include her daughter, Krista Mills and husband Mike, three grandchildren, Madison Paige Lee and husband Sam, Trevor Michael Mills and Tanner Douglas Mills all of Barbourville, three sisters, Edith Hampton and Betty Smith and husband Earl all of Bimble, Kentucky, and Barbara Earley and husband Dennis of Corbin, Kentucky, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Mills, Lois Mills and Lovella Dugger. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Private services for Mrs. Christine Adams will be held and she will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
