Charles Pennington Jr

Charles Pennington, Jr. was born September 16, 1930 in Whitley County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Charles Forrester and Hazel Medlock Pennington. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Fields Pennington who survives.

He is also survived by three children: Robbie Pennington and wife Tammy, Paula Thompson and husband Terry, all of London, and Marsha Herzog and husband Paul of Dubuque, Iowa; one brother, Harold William “Bill” Pennington and wife Barbara of Frankfort, Kentucky; eight grandchildren: Brice Pennington, Jacob Mosley, Caleb Mosley, Kelsey Holcomb, Anthony Thompson, Keaton Moberly, Miranda Creech, and Ashley Brock; four great-grandchildren; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Geneva Moberly.

He was a retired U.S. Marshal, and a veteran serving in the Army during the Korean War from 1955 to 1959.

Charles Pennington, Jr. departed this life Thursday, January 16, 2020 being 89 years and 4 months of age.

Funeral services for Charles Pennington, Jr. will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Jervis and Randy Bingham officiating. Burial will follow in the A. R. Dyche Memorial Park.

The family of Charles Pennington, Jr. will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6:00 pm Wednesday.

Pallbearers: Brice Pennington, Jacob Mosley, Caleb Mosley, Anthony Thompson, David Mosley, Steve Pennington, and Gorman Bennett.

Honorary Pallbearers: Billy Pennington, Bobby Pennington, Bradley Pennington, Charles Moberly, Claude Fields, David Westerfield, Ernest Matt House, Ed Parsley, Charlie Blankenship, Ken Reid, and Bob Haarsma.
