By WCSD UNIT 66 | Oct 2, 2016 |

Sheriff Colan Harrell reports that on 10-1-2016, Deputy Brian Hensley was patrolling Back St. in the Woodbine community when he noticed a male subject coming out of the woods with a shovel and a rake.

Deputy Hensley made contact with Sammy D. Harrell, 43 of Woodbine and could tell that he was under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

While Deputy Hensley was talking to Mr. Harrell, he noticed a needle sticking out from underneath his hat that had a liquid substance in it. Deputy Hensley asked Mr. Harrell what was in the needle and he advised that it was Methamphetamine.

Deputy Hensley contacted the Whitley County Dispatch and they notified him that Mr. Harrell also had a Circuit Court warrant on him for Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, 2nd offense for Methamphetamine.

Mr. Harrell was arrested for Public Intoxication, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and the Circuit Court Warrant.
