Nine arrested in Laurel County including a fugitive
Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Kyle Gray along with Deputy Rick Cloyd and Deputy Daniel Grigsby arrested nine individuals off Arthur Ridge Road, approximately 6 miles north of London on Saturday night August 6, 2016 at approximately 7:30 PM.
The arrests occurred while deputies were investigating a reported missing person where they had received information that the individual had been found at a location on Arthur Ridge Road. Deputies also learned that this individual was reportedly a wanted fugitive from Butler County, Ohio.
Upon arrival at the residence, eight individuals were present and all denied that the individual that deputies were attempting to locate – Thomas Scott ---was present at the residence.
Deputies located the suspect in a back bedroom hiding from them. The suspect and all eight other individuals were arrested. The wanted fugitive was identified as:
Thomas Scott age 50 of Highway 1376 W., East Bernstadt charged with being a fugitive – wanted by Butler County Sheriff's office, Ohio on charges of neglect of child. Ohio has confirmed they will extradite this individual.
Also arrested were eight individuals who were present at the residence who denied having information on the whereabouts of the wanted individual. Those arrested are identified as:
Charles Scott age 53 of Danville Kentucky charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension – second degree; public intoxication – controlled substances; and disorderly conduct – second-degree.--this subject created a disturbance upon arrest there,
Anthony Scott age 47 of Fort Myers, Florida,
Billie Coffey age 42 Of Hunter Ln., Richmond, KY,
Debra Scott age 52 of Highway 1376 W., East Bernstadt,
Zachary King age 21 Of Queensway Dr., Apartments, Mount Sterling, Kentucky,
Wilma Miller age 51 of Fairfield Ohio, and
James Clark age 23 of Gilbert Dr., Richmond, KY,
All charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension – second-degree; and public intoxication – controlled substances.
Also arrested was:
Rebecca Roach age 35 of Houstonville Road, Danville, Kentucky charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension – second-degree; and public intoxication – controlled substances. In addition, this individual was charged with promoting contraband – second-degree and disorderly conduct – second-degree – as this subject was being escorted into the Sheriff's office for processing, she began to curse and create a disturbance where children and other persons were nearby. In addition, during her search inside the detention center, staff there located a small baggie of suspected marijuana in her possession.
All nine arrested individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
