(Ferndale, Ky.) – On October 21, 2015 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan was notified about a collision on U.S. 25E in the Ferndale community of Bell County.
Troopers from post 10 responded to the collision and began an investigation.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2015 Ford F-550 operated by Marty Smith, 55, of Flat Lick was traveling southbound on U.S. 25E in the slow lane. According to witness statements, a pedestrian walked out into the road in front of the truck. Leslie Webb, 42, of Middlesboro was struck by the truck and then air lifted from the scene by Air Evac to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for his injuries. At this time, the condition of the Mr. Webb is not known.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected. No charges are pending into the collision.
The collision is still under investigation by Tpr. Don Perry. Also assisted at the scene were troopers from Post 10, Bell County Sheriff’s Department, Middlesboro Fire Department, Pineville Fire Department, Bell County EMS and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife.
