Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that he sent Laurel County deputies to Radcliff in Hardin County, Ky both Thursday and Friday to honor and show respect for Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder at his visitation and funeral.
Laurel County deputies were among the hundreds of officers that attended the funeral from all over the state of Kentucky and the nation.Trooper Ponder was shot and killed in western Kentucky on Sunday night September 13, 2015 following a traffic stop and pursuit.
The show of support for law enforcement officers from citizens was tremendous!
Trooper Ponder was laid to rest Friday in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, 2501 North Dixie Blvd., Ft. Knox, KY.
