(LONDON, KY.) – On Monday, April 06, 2015, at approximately 7:04 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a call of an abandoned vehicle on Crooked Creek Road in rural Rockcastle County.
Upon arrival, Troopers determined the vehicle was connected to a missing person from Fayette County. After a search of the immediate area, a body was discovered a short distance away and was later identified as Amelia E. Jones, 41, of Lexington.
The cause death has not been determined at this time, but foul play is not suspected. An autopsy has been scheduled for later today.
KSP Detective Tracy Haynes is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 11, Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office, Rockcastle County Constables, Livingston Fire Department, Mount Vernon Fire Department and the Rockcastle County Coroner’s Office.
