LONDON, KY — The Laurel County Sheriff's Office is reporting that: Sheriff John Root And Detective Taylor McDaniel arrested Brianna Rich, age 26, of London on Friday night March 14, 2025 at approximately 9:30 PM.
The arrest occurred after Laurel County deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a reported shooting at a residence off Burnett Road, approximately 7 miles southeast of London.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Brianna Rich’s mother, Carol Rich deceased at the scene from multiple gunshots. A 9mm pistol was recovered at the scene. The Laurel County coroner's office was notified and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Brianna Rich was taken into custody and later transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
The cause of the shooting has yet to be determined.
Brianna Rich was charged with:
- Murder
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Assisting at the scene for the Laurel County Sheriff's office were: Detective Hunter Disney, Detective Tommy Houston, Reconstructionist Deputy Brad Mink, Deputy Noah Ritchie, Deputy Daniel Reed, Deputy Matt Walker, Deputy Joey Smith, Deputy Justin Lewis, Deputy Byron Grimes, and Deputy Cody Blackwell.
Also assisting at the scene were: Kentucky State Police, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, Campground Fire Department, and the Laurel County Coroner's office. Sheriff’s Detective Taylor McDaniel is the case officer.

Shooting investigation underway:
Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: The Laurel County Sheriff's office is investigating a reported shooting which occurred at a residence off Burnett Road approximately 7 miles southeast of London on Friday night March 14, 2025 approximately 9:09 PM. Deputies found an individual deceased there apparently from a gunshot wound. Circumstances are yet to be determined. Investigation is continuing.
