Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Larry Parrott along with Sgt. Robbie Grimes arrested a London man on Wednesday night February 25, 2015 at approximately 10:23 P.M.
Arrested was Christopher Byrd age 29 of Hickory Road, London, Ky.
The arrest occurred off Hickory Road, approximately 5 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to observe for a Mercedes car on West Ky 80 where allegedly a male subject was holding his girlfriend against her will and armed with a pistol.
Deputies located the victim at the male subject's residence on Hickory Road observing that she had apparently been struck in the head during an apparent altercation.
The female victim stated that the male subject had struck her in the lip with his fist.
Christopher Byrd was charged with assault – fourth degree – domestic violence and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
