ARRESTS: Traffic Safety/Criminal Enforcement Operations Begin in Southeast, KY

WHITLEY COUNTY, KY - On Friday, April 18, 2025, a detail of ten law enforcement officers from Williamsburg Police Department, Corbin Police Department, KY Division of Fish & Wildlife, and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a traffic safety/criminal enforcement operation.

The multi-agency operation resulted in multiple arrests, a drug seizure, and citations being issued for a variation of offenses.

Over thirty-five citations were issued for numerous offenses (booster seat/child restraint/seat belt/reckless driving, non-licensed drivers, etc). Three individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants (theft, failure to appear). Suspected Methamphetamine was found and seized during one encounter.

Officers focused their enforcement actions on four areas across Williamsburg and Whitley County, which included:

  • 3-Point
  • Goldbug
  • Hwy 92 west at I-75 Exit 11/Penny Lane
  • Woodbine

These safety efforts and attempts to proactively deter crime, and provide a professional police service, will continue throughout the Spring and Summer months of 2025. Always remember to watch your speed, put your phone down, and buckle up!
