LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Austyn Weddle arrested Keven Kesaria, age 41 address not determined on Sunday afternoon April 6, 2025 at approximately 1:13 PM.
The arrest occurred off W. Cumberland Gap Pkwy. approximately 11 miles South of London after Deputy Weddle was dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a refusal to leave complaint at an area motel there.
Deputy Weddle learned that an occupant in a room was refusing to leave at 11:00 AM for normal checkout. This individual allegedly made threats to the desk clerk and stated he was not leaving until 3:00 PM.
When Deputy Weddle arrived at the scene, he attempted to make contact with the individual inside the room and noted that the individual could be heard screaming inside the room but would not open the door.
Hotel staff provided entry to the room to Deputy Weddle who noted that a male subject was observed laying on a bed and that beer cans were all over the room. The male subject refused verbal commands from Deputy Weddle and upon arrest the male suspect briefly struggled with Deputy Weddle before being taken into custody.
While enroute to the detention center, the arrested male became upset and began hitting the protective cage in the cruiser and was also headbutting the protective barrier and screaming.
Keven Kesaria was charged with:
- Alcohol intoxication in a public place
- Resisting arrest
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
