MANCHESTER, KY - Clay County Sheriff, Patrick Robinson, reports that on Monday, March 31, 2025, Deputy Sgt. Wes Brumley was investigating leads of stolen vehicles out of Clay and Laurel counties.
Sgt. Brumley spotted one of the stolen vehicles from out of Laurel County on N HWY 421 at the mouth of Brushy Branch in Manchester and while investigating, Sgt. Brumley observed a male subject driving another reported stolen vehicle.
Sgt. Brumley attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed onto Hoskins Road.
After turning onto Hoskins Road, Sgt. Brumley felt it unsafe to continue pursuit and terminated but did continue on Hoskins Road and came upon the stolen vehicle wrecked in a ditch.
Manchester Police Department and Kentucky state police assisted.
Skyler Hubbard, 21, of Manchester, KY was arrested for:
- RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $10,000 OR MORE
- FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE)
- RECKLESS DRIVING
- FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS
- ASSAULT, 1ST DEGREE
This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
