LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel is investigating a reported shooting which occurred off Hopper Creek Road, approximately 9 miles southeast of London on Thursday afternoon January 2, 2025 at approximately 2:45 PM.
Sheriff's investigators were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint that a male subject had been shot there.
When investigators arrived at the scene, they found a 43-year-old male subject had been shot once in the hip. This individual was airlifted to UK Med Center in Lexington for treatment.
Investigators are attempting to determine a possible suspect in the shooting.
A shooter has not been determined at this time. The investigation is continuing.
