LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Austyn Weddle arrested Raymond Cody Carl Asher age 18 of London on Sunday morning November 24, 2024 at approximately 11:13 AM.
The arrest occurred off S. Laurel Rd., in London after Deputy Weddle was notified by Corbin City Police that they had attempted to locate a reported reckless driver in an older model white Honda Civic on W. Cumberland Gap Pkwy. in southern Laurel County and upon locating the suspect vehicle that it had sped away toward Highway 770 and was not immediately located.
London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. received numerous complaints on a white Honda Civic traveling at a high rate of speed running vehicles off the roadway (believed to be the suspect vehicle from the earlier complaint).
An additional complaint was received that a white Honda Civic traveling at a high rate of speed had wrecked into a yard and building on Fariston Road 2 miles South of London.
London City Police located the vehicle at a residence off S. Laurel Road.
LSO Deputy Weddle responded to that location and located the male subject who was identified as the driver and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.
Raymond Cody Carl Asher was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- Leaving the scene of an accident; criminal mischief – second-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel Correctional Center.
