LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Byron Grimes arrested Brantley David Stevens age 23 of London early Saturday morning September 22, 2024 approximately 4:53 AM.
The arrest occurred off Tysons Lane, approximately 3 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a fight in progress complaint there.
As deputies were responding to the scene, dispatch further advised that a male subject was allegedly on scene intoxicated and had broken windows and doors to the residence and that there were possibly injuries to persons on scene.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they encountered subjects outside who advised that as the patrol vehicle was arriving on the scene that the suspect had fled.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect in a brushy area and upon giving multiple commands the suspect emerged with an object in his hand stating to deputies "kill me kill me".
Deputies were able to get the subject to place the object on the ground and conducted an investigation learning that a verbal dispute had allegedly occurred between the male suspect and a female subject there. Allegedly the female was assaulted.
In addition, it was determined that the male suspect was under the influence.
Brantley David Stevens was charged with:
- Criminal mischief – first-degree
- Assault – 4th degree
- Fleeing or evading police – third-degree
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
- Menacing
- Alcohol intoxication in a public place
- Endangering the welfare of a minor.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
