LONDON, KY — London Mayor Randall Weddle provides updates regarding an active shooter situation that occurred Saturday evening August 7, 2024, where numerous persons were shot in northern Laurel County near Interstate 75 at Exit 49/KY-909.

Interstate 75, both North and southbound have reopened and Laurel County Sheriff John Root reports that, a "still at large" suspect has been identified (left) as Joseph A. Couch, a 32 year old white male approximately 5’10 weighing approximately 154 lbs.
Multiple agencies are searching for this individual.
