Kentucky State Police and Simpson County Sheriff’s Office join Forces on Interstate 65

FRANKLIN, KY – The Kentucky State Police and Simpson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint enforcement detail on Interstate 65 just north of the Tennessee and Kentucky state line. 

During the last three months, more than 54 collisions were investigated from the state line to the 20 mile marker on Interstate 65. Each agency joined forces with a focus on increasing law enforcement visibility, with hopes of decreasing the number of collisions and criminal activities.

During the last three months, more than 54 collisions were investigated from the state line to the 20 mile marker on Interstate 65. Each agency joined forces with a focus on increasing law enforcement visibility, with hopes of decreasing the number of collisions and criminal activities. The joint effort resulted in 1 arrest, 40 speeding citations and 25 additional citations, including driving on suspended license, lane usage violations, no insurance, and careless driving charges. 

Each agency will continue working together prioritizing the safety of the community and those passing through.
