CLAY COUNTY, FL - Sheriff Michelle Cook is reporting that: The Clay County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit has arrested Devon Justice for trafficking in fentanyl, possession of cocaine, and introduction of contraband into a detention facility.
This arrest was the culmination of a month-long undercover investigation into the distribution of fentanyl in the Middleburg area. This investigation led to the development of probable cause to serve a search warrant where investigators believed drugs were being kept.
On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, detectives with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 43 Plankton Ave.
During the search of the residence, the following items were located:
- 16 grams of cocaine
- 57 grams of fentanyl
- 3.5 buprenorphine pills
- 48 Xanax pills
- 3 handguns
- 84 rounds of miscellaneous ammunition
One of the recovered handguns had previously been reported stolen to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Devon Justice, age 31, was arrested and transported to Clay County Jail without incident.
Once at the jail, Justice was found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine, fentanyl, xylazine, and methamphetamine, which he concealed on his body, in an attempt to smuggle the illegal drugs into the detention facility.
