LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Bobby Roberts arrested Charlie Helton age 67 of London on Thursday evening June 27, 2024 at approximately 7:15 PM.
The arrest occurred on West Hal Rogers Pkwy. approximately 4 miles west of London after Deputy Roberts was dispatched by London–Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a two vehicle injury traffic crash there.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Roberts learned that allegedly Helton's vehicle, a red Chevrolet Silverado, had crossed the intersection in front of the path of another vehicle colliding with that other vehicle.
Following an investigation, Mr. Helton was arrested.
Charlie Helton was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
- Wanton endangerment – second-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
