WANTED SUBJECTS, ONE FROM LONDON AND TWO OTHERS FROM CORBIN, KENTUCKY TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN LAUREL COUNTY ON WARRANTS OF ARREST

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen along with Deputy Cyruss McVey and K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested three individuals on Wednesday afternoon June 26, 2024 at approximately 4:44 PM.

LSO logo BLACKandGOLD John Root 200The arrests occurred off Paris Karr Road, approximately 8 miles South of London while deputies were conducting an investigation there.

Three individuals were encountered and it was determined that all three were wanted on outstanding warrants. In addition, one individual falsely identified himself to avoid him being discovered to be wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The three arrested individuals were identified as: Brandon Phelps age 41 of Fariston Rd., London, KY, Scarlett Wyatt age 35 of North Florence St., Corbin, KY and Richard Edwards age 43 of Palomino trail, Corbin, KY.

Brandon Phelps was charged with:

  • Giving officer false identifying information

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – third offense – methamphetamine;
  • Possession of a controlled substance – second-degree;
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Scarlett Wyatt was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license

Richard Edwards was charged on a Knox Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging probation warrant regarding charges of:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine

These three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
