LONDON. KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting the conviction and sentencing of a Manchester man for the theft of a skidsteer.
The equipment was reported stolen overnight on February 2nd, 2024 off Bryley Road, 10 miles south of London.
Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston investigated.
Following an extensive investigation by Deputy Houston, Franklin Collins age 41 of Manchester was charged regarding the theft.
Collins had been observed in possession of the stolen skidsteer on the night of February 2nd., 2024. Franklin Collins was arrested and subsequently indicted by a Laurel County Grand Jury.
Mr. Collins pled guilty in Laurel Circuit Court on Monday, May 13th, 2024 to a 5 year sentence and requirement to make restitution to the victim in the amount of $29,000.
