SOMERSET, KY - Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of a Somerset man for multiple charges after finding him hiding in a crawl space.
On Sunday, April 7, 2024, two individuals reported to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office that Codie A. Marcum, age 32 of Somerset, KY, came to their residence and made forced entry with a firearm, threatening to shoot them if they didn’t comply with his commands.
The victims further went on to report Marcum took property from them before assaulting them and refusing to let them leave.
Deputies assisted the victims in swearing out warrants for Marcum’s arrest on a range of charges from the incident. The warrants were signed and issued with bonds set at $150,000 each.
On April 8, 2024, around 3:00 pm, deputies went to a residence on Jasper St., Somerset, KY, to a residence Marcum was known to frequently be at.
Deputies were granted permission to go into the residence to search for Marcum and located him in a crawl space section of the basement.
While searching the residence for Marcum, deputies located firearms, narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the areas Marcum was alleged to control, or were common areas in the home.
Codie A. Marcum was arrested from the residence and charged with a Pulaski District Court warrant for:
- Robbery 1st Degree
- Kidnapping
- Assault 2nd Degree
- Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree
In addition, a second Pulaski District Court warrant was also served on Marcum for:
- Burglary 1st Degree
- Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree
- Assault 2nd Degree
- Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree
Also, Marcum was subsequently charged from the scene with:
- Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense-Methamphetamine
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense-Drug Unspecified
- Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree-Drug Unspecified
- Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon
- Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon
- Drug Paraphernalia
Marcum was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
