SOMERSET, KY - Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of three Pulaski County residents, after an early morning traffic stop in March.
On March 15, 2024, at a little after 5:00 a.m., Deputy Tyler Pearson noticed a silver Chevrolet Silverado traveling at a high rate of speed on Hwy 90 with no taillights present on the vehicle.
Deputy Pearson attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the truck on Hwy 90, but the vehicle continued and eventually turned onto Jacksboro Rd.
While on Jacksboro Rd., Deputy Pearson witnessed the driver hang out of the window.
Once the vehicle came to a stop, Deputy Pearson recognized the driver, identified as Justin Stigall, 33 years of age, Burnside, KY, wasn’t wearing his seat belt and had children in the vehicle that also were not properly restrained.
Upon further investigation into the stop, Deputy Pearson discovered Stigall’s license was suspended and there was no insurance on the vehicle.
Two female passengers in the front of the truck, Alison Fuson, 26 years of age, Burnside, KY and Melissa Payne, 38 years of age, Burnside, KY, were determined to both have warrants for their arrest.
One of the female passengers informed Deputy Pearson that Stigall had given them a clear plastic bag containing a crystal like substance prior to being removed from the vehicle.
Further search of the truck found other paraphernalia commonly used for the smoking of Methamphetamine.
Justin Stigall was arrested from the traffic stop and charged with:
- Reckless Driving
- No Tail Lamps
- Driving on DUI Suspended License 1st Offense
- Failure to Wear Seat Belts
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense-Methamphetamine
- Booster Seat Violations
- Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (Motor Vehicle)
- Failure to Produce Insurance Card
Alison Fuson was arrested from the stop on a Pulaski County District Court warrant for:
- Failure to Appear
Melissa Payne was also arrested on a Pulaski County Circuit Court warrant for:
- Failure to Appear
All three subjects were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
Deputy Pearson was assisted on the scene by Deputy Evan Whitis and Ferguson Police Officer, Travis Richardson.
