MULTNOMAH COUNTY, OR - A suspicious circumstances call resulted in the discovery of human remains in a greenspace in Fairview.
On Tuesday, March 19, shortly after 12:00 p.m., Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to a call about suspicious circumstances at a green space near NE Halsey Street and NE Fairview Parkway.
Upon further investigation, deputies discovered human remains. Deputies requested detectives respond to initiate a death investigation. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the location to recover the remains and assist with the investigation.
The East County Major Crimes Team (ECMCT) is conducting the death investigation in collaboration with the medical examiner’s office. The ECMCT consists of detectives from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Gresham Police Department, the Port of Portland Police Department, Oregon State Police and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
We do not believe there is any threat or danger to the public related to the circumstances of this case.
