MANCHESTER, KY - During search for a reported stolen vehicle, both the theft suspect and vehicle were located in Clay County.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle —a Ford Explorer was stolen off KY 229 south of London on Sunday morning March 17, 2024. The suspect was identified as Tanner Couch.
Later on Sunday the suspect, Tanner Couch and the stolen Explorer were located in Clay County with the suspect arrested and the vehicle recovered.

KSP Trooper R. Bowling arrested Tanner J. Couch, age 22 of London, KY. regarding the theft. Couch was transported to the Clay County Detention Center.
He was booked into the facility on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 11:38 PM
Tanner Couch was charged with:
- RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1,000 < $10,000
- POSS CONT SUB 1ST DEG, 1ST OFF (METHAMPHETAMINE)
- CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, 1ST DEGREE
This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
Couch remains lodged in CCDC on a $15000.00 cash bond as of 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoon March 23, 2024.
