LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Cyruss McVey arrested Megan LaRose Asher age 27 of London on Monday night March 11, 2024 at approximately 7:32 PM.
The arrest occurred on Slate Lick Street in London following a traffic stop initiated by Deputy McVey after he observed a vehicle approaching him from behind at a high rate of speed in the opposing Lane.
When he activated his emergency equipment to attempt a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle began swerving on the roadway, traveling off the roadway into the grass before coming to a stop.
Deputy McVey noted detecting the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver and conducted an investigation determining that she was under the influence.
Megan Asher was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence first offense
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
