CAVE CITY, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that at approximately 3:30 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024, KSP Post 3, Bowling Green was requested by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a three vehicle collision.
Troopers responded to the scene at the 6000 block of North Jackson Highway.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Rylee Gibbons, 20, of Glasgow was operating a silver Hyundai Elantra south bound on North Jackson Highway.
Gibbons crossed the centerline colliding with a blue Nissan Rogue, that was operated by Jennifer Hishmeh, 58, of Glasgow. Hishmeh was traveling north bound on North Jackson Highway.
Mania Johnson, 32, of Glasgow was operating a red Jeep Cherokee that was also north bound on North Jackson Highway and collided with the Nissan Rogue following the initial collision.
Alveda Jessie, 80, of Cave City was the passenger of the Nissan Rogue and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
The others involved were transported to T.J. Sampson Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The investigation is being led by Detective Allen Shirley. He was assisted on the scene by Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Glasgow Police Department, Barren-Metcalf EMS and the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
