LONDON, KY - According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, the Weather Channel and the National Weather Service are reporting a windshield advisory for Laurel County beginning at 10:00 PM Friday night January 19, 2024.
This advisory will continue through 10:00 AM Sunday morning January 21, 2024.
Wind chill values could be as low as minus 15 degrees.
A warming center is available at the London City Fire Department.
Temperatures will remain below freezing, making for possible slick road conditions.
Many roads are still ice and snow covered.
State and county salt trucks continue to scrape and salt the roadways.
Motorists should exercise caution if driving is necessary.
As always, Laurel County deputies will be on patrol to assist motorists and citizens.
