PIKEVILLE, KY –The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post can now confirm the Identity of the deceased individual who was located in the Jamboree community of Pike County, KY on Wednesday, November 01, 2023.
The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification. The deceased person's Identity has been confirmed as Melissa Wolford, 42 years old of Phelps, KY.
The cause of death is still currently under investigation.

JAMBOREE, Ky. (November 9, 2023) – Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post is conducting a death investigation after a deceased individual was located in the Jamboree community of Pike County. KSP Pikeville Post received a call on Wednesday November 01, 2023 at 11:56 a.m. where the caller advised a possible deceased individual had been located.
KSP investigators responded to the area. The initial investigation indicated a deceased person was located along a utility road near State Highway 194 East in the Jamboree community. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification. The cause of death is under investigation; however, foul play is suspected.
