LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Zach Allen arrested Jonathan Ryan Mathews age 34 of London on Wednesday afternoon December 13, 2023 at approximately 4:10 p.m.
The arrest occurred off Johnson Road, approximately 6 miles east of London after this subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Strangulation – first-degree
- Two counts of assault – 4th degree
- Terroristic threatening – third-degree
In addition, the subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Criminal abuse – first-degree – child 12 or under
Also, the subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Bail jumping – first-degree
Jonathan Ryan Mathews was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
