LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Jody Lynn Roark age 44 of London on Tuesday night December 12, 2023 at approximately 8:00 PM.
The arrest occurred on Marydell Road, approximately 8 miles east of London after Sgt. Mehler was dispatched to a complaint of a male subject walking along the roadway wanted on outstanding warrants.
Upon arrival at scene, Sgt. Mehler located the individual and conducted an investigation learning that he was wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants.
As Sgt. Mehler attempted to effect the arrest, the individual began resisting, scuffling with Sgt. Mehler and attempting to flee on foot.
Following a foot chase the suspect again resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
Jody Lynn Roark was charged on two warrants:
1. A Clay County District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court on charges of nonsupport
2. A Clay County District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Probation violation
Also, this subject was charged with:
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
- Resisting arrest
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
