LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: A phone scam has surfaced in Laurel County where the caller is identifying themselves as Medicare.
They are telling the recipient that Medicare is switching their system to cards and plastic, and that they need to verify personal data with them.
This is a scam to obtain personal data from unsuspecting citizens.
Do not give out this personal identifying information!!
The Laurel County Sheriffs Office is investigating this most recent scam.
