Unlawful Imprisonment Arrests follow an Investigation into Animal Neglect Complaint in Madison County, Kentucky

BEREA, KY - The Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to Harrison King Lane in Berea on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 for a complaint of animal neglect.

The initial investigation into the animal neglect complaint led to a call for assistance from the Department of Community Based Services (DCBS).

Further investigation by Detective Donovan Nolan revealed George and Samantha Hill locked five minor children in a bedroom for extended periods of time with limited food, water and without restroom breaks.

George Hill, 30 years old, and Samantha Hill, 31 years old, both of Berea were arrested and transported to the Madison County Detention Center.

George Hill and Samantha Hill both were charged with:

  • Five counts of Criminal Abuse 1st Degree
  • Five counts of Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree

Both individuals were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
