Arrests after Subject Creates Disturbance at a High School Football Game in London, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel along with Deputy Austyn Weddle arrested two subjects on Friday night September 8, 2023 at approximately 9:46 PM.

The arrests occurred off Hal Rogers Parkway in London after a male subject, Chris Asher created a disturbance at a North Laurel High School football game.

This individual was asked to leave the property, he refused and upon arrest began fighting with deputies there.

Asher then attempted to flee the scene on foot through a crowd of people and children but following a short foot chase was captured, however, this subject decided to continue the fight with deputies before finally being taken into full custody and transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.

During the arrest, a female subject, Jessica Asher approached arresting deputies and created a disturbance and was asked to leave several times and failed to do so and was also placed under arrest and transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.

The two arrested individuals were identified as: Chris Asher, age 37 of Arthur Ridge Road, East Bernstadt, KY and Jessica Asher, age 33 of Little Arthur Ridge Road, East Bernstadt, KY.

Chris Asher was charged with:

  • Criminal trespassing – third-degree
  • Disorderly conduct – first-degree
  • Fleeing or evading police – first-degree – on foot
  • Resisting arrest

Jessica Asher was charged with:

  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Resisting arrest

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
