LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root and London City Police Chief Chuck Johnson announce that: The Laurel County "Drug Interdiction" Task Force reports the following activity for the first six months of 2023.
Drugs Seized:
• 15.4 pounds Methamphetamine
• 13.7 pounds Mari:uana
• 186 grams Fentanyl
• 50 dosage units Fentanyl pills
• 163 dosage units units Oxycodone
• 115 grams Heroin
• 102 dosage units units Alprazolam
Guns seized from drug dealers:
• 36 — one was a reported stolen weapon
Money:
• $27,587 drug proceeds
• $90,900 stolen cash recovered
108 — Cases opened
53 — Arrests made
11 — Defendants referred to federal agencies
