CLAY CITY, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, KSP Post 8, Morehead was notified by Powell County Dispatch of a two-vehicle injury collision. The collision occurred on KY 11 in the community of Clay City.
Through the investigation, KSP Troopers determined that William Thompson, 80 years of age from Clay City was operating a 2003 Dodge pickup on KY 11.
Priscilla Davis, 79 years of age from Jeffersonville was operating a 2010 Chevy SUV on KY 11.
Mr. Thompson crossed the center line striking Ms. Davis causing fatal injuries to both operators.
William Thompson and Priscilla Davis were pronounced deceased on the scene by Powell County Coroner Megan Wells.
KSP was assisted by Powell County Sheriff’s Department and Powell County Fire and EMS.
This collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Morehead.
