CARROLLTON, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that KSP Post 5, Campbellsburg received information on Friday that a subject was fleeing from other law enforcement agencies in a stolen vehicle and traveling towards the Post 5 area.
KSP Post 5 troopers were able to observe the reported vehicle in Carroll County on Interstate 71. Troopers were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device. The vehicle continued traveling for approximately 2-3 miles before the single occupant exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot into the woods. Troopers chased the subject into the woods and ultimately subdued him and took him into custody.
After the arrest, a 20 year old male identified as Robert Kidd from Jackson, Tennessee was transported to and lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.
Robert Kidd was charged with the following:
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree(Motor Vehicle)
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree(On Foot)
- Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree
- Speeding 26 MPH or Greater than Speed Limit(Limited Access)
- Resisting Arrest
- Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or More
- Possession of Marijuana(Enhancement)
- Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess
- Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon
