LONDON, KY (May 8, 2023) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Josh Velasco along with Deputy Greg Poynter arrested Freddie Colwell age 54 of Lexington, KY on Saturday afternoon May 6, 2023 at approximately 3:32 PM.
The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Parkway approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a possible intoxicated subject walking around in a business parking lot there.
Upon arrival at the scene deputies located the suspect and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.
In addition, this subject was found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine.
Freddie Colwell was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
