LANE COUNTY, OR (April 26, 2023) - The Oregon State Police (OSP) is reporting that on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at approximately 6:03 P.M., OSP responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 569, near milepost 6.5, in Lane County.
The preliminary investigation indicated a Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Harlin Adair Grondsdahl (63) of Veneta, was merging onto the westbound lanes of Highway 569 from Highway 99, when it sideswiped the guardrail. The operator was thrown against the guardrail and support posts during the crash.
Emergency medical aid was provided by other motorists and first responders, however the operator was declared deceased at the scene.
The on-ramp was impacted for approximately 3.5 hours during the on-scene investigation.
OSP was assisted by the Lane County Sheriff's Office, the Lane Fire Authority, and ODOT.
