LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Cyruss McVey along with London City Police Officer Joey Robinson arrested John Philip Duff age 57 of Ligon, KY on Saturday evening March 25, 2023 at approximately 6:45 PM.
The arrest occurred at a residence off Riverside Loop, approximately 4 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a female subject hanging out of a window screaming for help there.
Upon arrival at the scene deputies could hear a female subject screaming for help from the back of the residence.
Deputies made entry to the residence and observed a male subject striking the female subject in the head.
Following a brief scuffle with the suspect, John Philip Duff, deputies took Mr. Duff into custody.
John Duff was charged with:
- Assault – 4th degree
- Resisting arrest
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
