LONDON, KY - According to the London Police Department (LPD) Facebook page, LPD Officer Jared Hale, assisted by Officer John Inman arrested an Oklahoma woman at 6:06 P.M. Thursday evening March 16, 2023 at the scene of a non-injury vehicle accident on KY 30.
According to Officer Hale’s report, LPD units were dispatched to a wreck on KY 30 and after arriving at the scene, he detected a strong odor of Marijuana coming from one of the vehicles. The driver exited the vehicle and could not recall how the wreck occurred.
Meeks had a strong odor of Marijuana coming from her person and struggled to keep her eyes open. She failed several field sobriety tests.
Shaya Ann Meeks, 26, of S. 30th Street, Muskogee, OK was arrested and transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Shaya Meeks was charged with:
- OPER MTR VEHICLE U/INFL CONT SUB (189A.010(1D) - 1ST
- NO OTHER STATE REGISTRATION RECEIPT
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
