LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Austyn Weddle arrested two individuals on Friday evening October 21, 2022 at approximately 6:14 PM.
The arrests occurred off East Highway 1376 approximately 5 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that a male and female subject had been observed coming from the back of a residence carrying items in a bag.
When deputies arrived in the vicinity of the scene, they observed a male and female subject walking nearby and conducted an investigation.
Deputies also made contact with the complainant and learned that the two individuals they contacted were the suspects.
Deputies determined through investigation that the two had entered a building not their own and taken items from within the residence.
The two arrested individuals were identified as: Joe Travis Huber age 44 of East Bernstadt, KY and Charlene Jones age 55 of East Bernstadt, KY.
Joe Huber was charged with:
- Burglary – third-degree
Charlene Jones was charged with:
- Burglary – third-degree
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
