HYDEN, KY - The Leslie County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that on Saturday, October 9, 2021 while off duty, Deputy Kyle Crisp got behind Darcy Duchaine, from Woodstock, GA, driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla, traveling east on the Hal Rogers Parkway. Duchaine failed to maintain her lane of travel and passed other vehicles in no passing zones and blind curves. Deputy Crisp made contact with Deputy Bobby Roberts, who stopped Duchaine.
Upon contact with Duchaine, Deputy Roberts observed several clues Duchaine may have been under the influence. Field sobriety tests were preformed and it was determined Duchaine was under the influence.
Upon search of her vehicle a prescription bottle was found with two different prescriptions inside.
Once arrested Duchaine became irate and refused to get into the Sheriff’s cruiser, but eventually got in and was taken to the hospital.
Once at the hospital, Duchaine consented to a blood test. After this test Duchaine became violent towards Deputy Roberts and started kicking him.
Duchaine also purposely hit herself in the face and head with the cuffs that was restraining her, causing minor injuries to her face. Once back in the Sheriff’s cruiser on the way to the detention center she also purposely hit her head against the back window, knocking the window off track.
Darcy Duchaine was charged with:
•Reckless driving
•Failure to wear seatbelts
•Failure to produce insurance card
•Operating motor vehicle under influence 1st
•Prescription controlled substance not proper container 1st
•Resisting arrest
•Menacing
•Assault 3rd degree-Police Officer
•Criminal mischief 3rd degree
This individual was lodged in the Leslie County Detention Center.
