LONDON, KY (October 5, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Dylan Messer along with K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler and Deputy Dustin Saylor arrested Roger Dale Williams age 39 of London on Monday night October 4, 2021 at approximately 8:34 PM.
The arrest occurred off Drew Lane, approximately 5 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of an out-of-control subject firing a gun out of the window of his home.
Upon arrival at the scene family members met deputies in the driveway advising the subject had went back inside the residence to rearm himself with a handgun.
When the subject heard deputies sirens approaching the residence he walked out of the residence unarmed and was detained without incident.
An investigation was conducted and it was learned that allegedly the suspect had became mad at family members and began shooting his AR style rifle out of his residence window in the direction of three people outside in the yard.
Deputies determined that seventeen .223 rifle rounds had been fired.
In addition deputies determined that the suspect was under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
Roger Dale Williams was charged with:
- 17 counts of wanton endangerment – first-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
