MANCHESTER, KY (December 18, 2020) - According to Clay County Coroner's office, the deseased body discovered on a hillside in Clay County has been identified.
Clay County Coroner Jarrod Becknell told ClayCoNews that body of the deseased individual is that of Joey Mills and was found by his daughter on Friday morning December 18. 2020 on a hillside off Curry Branch Road.
Joey Mills age 58 of Curry Branch had been missing since Saturday morning December 12, 2020 when he was last seen near his home on Curry Branch Road.
Coroner Becknell said that Deputy Coroner Billy Aaron Smith is working the case but it is his understanding that the body is going for an autopsy.
Horse Creek Fire & Rescue refused to comment on the discovery.
