LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston with assistance from Corbin police officer Adam Dailey arrested Devin Allen Rountree age 21 of Williamsburg, KY early Sunday morning March 15, 2020 at approximately 3:46 AM.
The arrest occurred off US 25W approximately 10 miles South of London in a business parking lot after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle.
Upon arrival at the scene officers observed a tan colored Chevrolet Cobalt and a driver in the vehicle with the engine running with his foot on the brake.
After awakening the driver, officers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from this person and conducted an investigation determining that this subject was under the influence. Deputies also noted open alcohol beverage containers inside the vehicle.
Devin Allen Rountree was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense
- Failure to wear seatbelts
- Reckless driving
- Possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited
- Obstructed vision or wind shield
- One headlight
- Improper equipment
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
