KSP UPDATE: Victims Identified / Fatal Collision in Bell County

FATAL Collision

Page, KY. (March 13, 2020) –The Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call at 8:23 a.m. about a two vehicle head on collision on U.S. 119 in the Page community of Bell County. KSP Reconstructionist are on the scene. KSP can confirm two people have been confirmed deceased at this time.

UPDATE:

Preliminary investigation indicates a 1994 Green Ford Explorer driven by Kimberly Jackson, 49 years old of Pineville was traveling north on U.S.119 in the Page community of Bell County. Ms. Jackson crossed the center line striking a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac head on that was traveling south on U.S.119 driven by Verda Green, 45 years old of Hulen.

Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Bell County Deputy Coroner. The passenger, Doris Jackson, 70 years old of Pineville in the 1994 Ford Explorer was flown to University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. At this time she is listed in critical condition.

Drugs may be a contributing factor in the collision and KSP is continuing to investigate. Both occupants in the 1994 Ford Explorer were not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Det. Andy Soltess is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Bell County EMS, Bell County Sheriff's Department and Bell County Fire Department.

U.S.119 is completely shut down in that area. Traffic has been rerouted through Laurel Hill.

KSP is currently investigating the collision and expect delays in the area for several hours. We will update as more information comes available.
